Arcade Apartments participates in an affordable housing program. Household income, artist & student status limitations apply. If one member of your household is an artist, and if you meet the housing income guidelines listed below, you may qualify for one of our affordable artist apartments.

TO APPLY FOR THIS APARTMENT, YOU MUST BE AN ARTIST AND MEET THESE QUALIFICATIONS:

ONE > ARTS COMMITMENT:
Your income source need not be related to your artistic endeavors (learn more). At least one member of the household must demonstrate a commitment to an art form in order to qualify for residency. The creation of one’s work does NOT have to be the source of income for the individual or the family in order to qualify.

TWO > INCOME LIMITS:
Use the amount on line 4 from Form 1040EZ of your most recent tax return. Household income is based on GROSS annual income (before any deductions), earned from all sources including wages, social security payments, public assistance, pensions, annuities, interest income, dividends, stocks, bonds, insurance settlements, recurring gifts from family/friends, sales of artwork, etc. Third-party verification will be required of all income, and copies of tax returns and pay stubs may be required. Self-employed artists use NET income*. The maximum number of residents allowed is two per bedroom:

- 1 occupant must make less than $35,700
- 2 occupants must make less than $40,800
- 3 occupants must make less than $45,900 (2 bedroom homes only)
- 4 occupants must make less than $50,940 (2 bedroom homes only)

*Net Income is your gross income minus business expenses before personal deductions. Find this number on line XX from Form 1040EZ on your most recent tax return.

THREE > CREDIT, RENTAL HISTORY & PUBLIC RECORDS:
A credit screening report, rental history & public record background checks are all part of the initial screening process.

FOUR > STUDENT QUALIFICATIONS:
A household that includes any full-time students must meet certain criteria to obtain an exemption.

FIVE > THE APPLICATION PROCESS
